Welcome! My name is Isabella.

If the days feel overwhelming, unmanageable, confusing, or doubtful – you are not alone. We all need intentional time set aside to pause and care for our minds and bodies. A time to refill our cup. As a graduate intern with First Step Wellness, it would be my honor to walk alongside you in your mental health journey towards living a well-rounded life. Whether it is to process life events together or learn how to better manage emotions and accompanying symptoms – through a warm, therapeutic alliance, I intend to cultivate a safe, judgement-free atmosphere that assists you in meeting all your goals through therapy.

Isabella Coture, graduate intern – Isabella currently works under the direct supervision of Susan Janerico, LPC, and Waleska Narvaez, LCSW, here at First Step Wellness. Isabella earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Western Connecticut State University and is actively completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Bridgeport. Isabella has years of experience working with children and adolescents through leadership in assistant teaching programs, youth gatherings, and school-based interventions. She has experience working with adults of all ages through agency work as a case manager, advocating specifically for those living with HIV/AIDS. She is passionate about reducing stigma around mental health and furthering the development of her psychoeducation skills. She is also passionate about attending to those who are overlooked in the community and lending an active ear to those who often go unheard in society.
