Hello and Welcome!

Finding a counselor can be a nerve wracking task, but you  have already taken an excellent First Step!   On this page you will find some general  information  about me which will hopefully bring you some comfort as you walk further toward your best self. It is my goal that you feel respected and valued, not only in the counseling relationship, but in all relationships. We can't change others but we can react and respond to others in a way that empowers us and enables us to live a joy -filled life. Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief or just feeling "off" are all changeable states.  Effective counseling can bring you the peace and happiness you deserve. While I am honored to walk your journey  with you, I will always remain humble to the fact that it is your journey and I am  simply privileged to be accompanying you for support.

Susan Janerico, LPCA– Susan earned a Masters in the Art of Counseling (MAC) degree from Crown College, graduating early with high honors. Susan has extensive experience with the adoption process and related issues, educational advocacy, the juvenile justice system, children and adolescent mental health, individual and family trauma, and substance use disorders. Susan has developed and facilitated Intensive Outpatient treatment for Adolescents and developed therapeutic relationships with family members to ensure continuity of care.  Susan sees individuals of all ages, but has a special place in her heart for teens.  She treats a wide variety of conditions  including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem,  and relationship stress. In addition to counseling, Susan has acted as a volunteer youth minister for over 15 years, and is passionate about social justice, community service and faith-based mentoring.

“Effective counseling begins with relationships. When a client and clinician develop a trusting rapport, barriers for healing break down. A client should feel safe enough to expose vulnerabilities and comfortable enough to attempt new behaviors. I employ a variety of modalities which are selected in collaboration with a client, making treatment a personalized experience. Each person’s uniqueness can be used as a strength. I believe in addressing the whole person: body, mind and spirit and offer hope based Christian Counseling when requested"

I really look forward to meeting you and starting a positive, healing journey with you.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me through the link below.  I will be sure to answer within 24 hours.
